Live Bar, June 7th recently, Sun player Paul talked about being traded to thunder in The Pivot podcasting program.
Paul said: “The Rockets said they would not trade me. They called me and asked me if I would like to go to thunder. I said I didn’t want to go there at this point in my career. Then they said they wouldn’t trade me. A week later, I saw the news that I was traded in the bleachers.
“This alliance is like this. In professional sports, no one owes you anything.”
In 2019, the rocket and Thunder completed the deal. Paul and Westbrook exchanged bosses. Paul went to thunder and Wei Shao went to the rocket.
In this deal, the rocket also sent out the first round of the first four protection contracts in 2024 and 2026, as well as the selection rights swap qualifications in 2021 (the first four protection) and 2025 (the first 20 protection).
Wei Shao played for a season in the Rockets, during which he averaged 27.2 points 7.9 rebounds 7.2 assists 1.6 steals;
Paul played in Thunder for a season, during which he averaged 17.6 points 5.0 rebounds 6.7 assists 1.6 steals.
